From the moment I step inside the charming building my energy shifted. My nostrils inhaled the subtle aromatic Scent of a smell I couldn’t quite pick. I think it was lavender, Clary sage and perhaps a hint of something citrusy. The Aroma hit my nose and instantly grounded me. I felt present in the moment and my shoulders dropped a little as I instantly became present to the moment and my body.
I sat down in the waiting room, & thought what a great little spot, I can tell so much heartwarming energy went into creating this space.
I am greeted by my therapist.
Friendly and calming she guided me to the treatment room.
I put my things down and sit and relax with a nice warm foot bath that instantly takes my chaotic energy down a notch.
I am offered a warming cuppa tea that is ever so refreshing. My feet are washed and scrubbed vigorously with a salty concoction. Wow, I had no idea a foot scrub Felt So Good it was like my nervous system was getting woken up from my feet up.
We Chat a little and my therapist allows me a moment to change over for my relaxation massage. I am told it includes hot Stones on the back and hot towels. I am so looking forward to it.
I lie on the table relaxed already but waiting. My therapist Knocks and enters the room quietly.
I Begin by taking three deep breaths of the essential oil which smells earthy and fresh. I am told it is Basil citrus and floral oils.
My massage then begins and the warm oils are lathered onto my skin. I don’t think it’s had this much attention in a long time.
I remember, aargh, I forgot to shave my legs.
My therapist tells me don’t be silly.
So I close my eyes and begin to unwind as the pressure from my massage soothes my soul. Hot Stones Glide along my back like butter and my shoulders fall into the table more relaxed than forever.
I start to drift off to a place of Zen somewhere between sleep and wake.
Before not too long it’s time to turn over.
A little eye pillow filled with beans smells so lovely and helps me to switch off. Hot towels on the feet feel so lovely as the steam relaxes them.
My favourite part is always the scalp massage at the end, it’s like my mind instantly switches off and I can’t think about anything.
I fall into a deep slumber, I think I was snoring.
My treatment ends with a firm press of the arms, the legs and a gentle stretch of the feet then completes with a gentle ding sound of a little bell, which helps bring me back to earth and makes me aware of my surrounds again.
The sound resonates around my body and I begin to slowly come back to a state of awareness.
It’s time to slowly hop up off the table now.
The therapist allows me some time to get changed over.
I leave this lovely destination called Renew Yourself feeling slower and more sensitive to the outside world.
My body reminds me to just take it slow for the rest of the day as it restores its energy.
